Three homepage directions for Chrysalis, all built to Jasmine’s Aug 28 notes. They share the same brand, the same copy and the same photos, so the only thing changing between them is the design idea. Whichever one wins gets rebuilt properly into the real site. The direction locks on Sep 8.
The site reads as a wall of theatre posters. Every section is a full-width band of flat TMU colour carrying a poster-scale headline, and the photographs are cut as hard rectangles that cross the seams between one band and the next.
What to look at: colour panels sliding up over the three pillar photos, gallery labels bursting to headline size when you hover a tile, and headlines sliding in from the edge of each colour band as you scroll.

House lights down, so ink is the ground and the photography is the only light in the room. The page then runs as a sequence of acts, a dark hero, a lit paper middle, a dark What’s On and gallery, then house lights up again for the Space and the newsletter.
What to look at: the three pillar panels widening and coming up to full colour under the cursor with their text opening as they go, the big numbers rising into place as you scroll, and the slow drift on the two Space photos.

A festival collage built on paper, with photographs cut into arches, slabs and pills that overlap each other and the type. Category tags are pinned on at a tilt, and the type jumps from an enormous headline to a small caption in one breath.
What to look at: tilted pieces straightening and lifting when you touch them, the colour block sliding out from behind each photo, and a small wiggle on the tags when you hover an event card.
